Shine your light

"Shine your light". This photograph is a portrait of a young woman from the interior of Spain in which I want to capture her soul and her rural ancestral roots. She sheds her own light in the darkness that surrounds her, a symbol of the uncertainty of her cultural context that could disappear in a few years. Her light and her mystery as a symbol of hope in this portrait. Technically, the light is completely natural, as is the darkness, which is a contrast between the exterior and the interior within her own home. The dress that she wears is an old wedding dress, traditional and unique from a part of the Salamanca region. The veil is a key element in this portrait that gives the photograph more drama and mystery. My professional and academic trajectory passes through different countries. I have a degree in Hispanic Philology and has studied Anthropology, Marketing and Communication. My work focuses on photographic projects for companies and institutions dedicated to cultural, tourism and social development activities. My project Visual Anthropology – Identity and Heritage – is an essential archive to get to know our cultural heritage in a deep and reflective way, highlighting the work of promoting and disseminating the tangible and intangible heritage of the territories.
