The launches of Diet Coke and Kodak's Instamatic cameras occurred virtually simultaneously in 1963. The products were extremely successful in the 1960s and 1970s and sold millions of copies. Diat Coke still exists, but Instamatik ceased production in 1988. I discovered the still life in the side room of a bookstore in Singapore. The bookstore specializes in unusual books that are difficult to find in regular bookstores. I immediately recognized the connection between Diat Coke and Instamatik, but I'm not sure whether the still life was deliberately arranged that way or whether it was a coincidence.
