Majestic Flight at Clearwater Beach

I spent a transformative week at Clearwater Beach, immersed in the daily rhythms of the Brown Pelicans. From dawn till dusk, I waded through the waters, often neck-deep, to capture these majestic birds from the closest, lowest vantage point possible. With careful consideration of the wind and sunlight to anticipate their movements, I positioned myself strategically to catch the perfect angles of takeoff and landing. The sight of their wings, fully extended then snapping forward like a rocket ship, was breathtaking. These photographs, a culmination of patience and timing, are some of my favorites from a very wet journey. They encapsulate the grace and power of the Brown Pelicans in moments of sheer beauty and aerodynamic precision.
