In front of the splendidly ornate Beigang Chaotian Temple, the Beiwei Sheng Marching Band opened the Mazu pilgrimage with the stirring and powerful sounds of the "Horse Formation" ritual music. The elaborately painted palanquins stood solemnly, as young horse riders and musicians marched in formation, while banners fluttered loudly in the wind and the deafening music echoed through the air. It felt as if time itself had been transcended, summoning the enduring power of faith passed down through generations. This pilgrimage is not only a devout tribute to Mazu, but also a sacred journey to pray for blessings and protection for the local community.
