LOOKING IN

This series is a continuum from the series "Dancing in the Emptiness" and "Blue Vacuity" which deal with the development of spirituality in daily life with b&w photo collages like in "Dancing" and abstract living symbols, like in "Blue". This time, with the work in progress, the photographer looks in the dust free mirror to try to see the truth and essence of himself. A great help by this oeuvre is the heart sutra of the japanese buddhist patriarch Kukaï and the indian master Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj to,build the courage, insight and patience for this series. As black & white, and colour are only a concept, like most of the phenomena where we cling to, I like this B&W series to begin with a picture in colour. The interesting thing is when you look into a mirror, that the only thing that does not move is the mirror itself. So I ask myself is the Self always moving, and do I have to find in every movement the truth and essence? Or do I arrive at a single image that does not move but lives its life at un unmoving loving and all embracing level? Perhaps should this series then contain one image. But as it for me still a puzzle where I see small pieces and not the whole, I try to put them together, perhaps not all in this series, and perhaps not in this life. I think it is a trial and error, with every time more light, until there will be light only.
