Veiled Naples: the geometry of silence

I am a son of Naples, a city world-renowned for its vibrant chaos, its overflowing life, and the rhythmic noise of its crowded alleys. Like many, I grew up surrounded by this beautiful, volcanic energy. Yet, I always felt there was another Naples—a secret one—waiting just beyond the noisy surface. This photographic series, “Veiled Naples: The Geometry of Silence,” is my deeply personal journey of rediscovery. It started by slipping through a half-open door in Naples, leaving the chaos behind. Suddenly, I found myself in a space where time holds its breath and silence becomes material. This project explores the hidden courtyards of historical palazzi—silent theatres where daily life flows invisibly, while architecture stands still. By alternating between eye-level perspectives and pure vertical views, I seek to unveil the silent geometry and light that define these secret spaces. It is an intimate journey to reveal the soul of Naples, hidden just a few metres away from the street.
