This series captures the lesser seen exteriors of the iconic HSBC Main Building in Hong Kong designed by Lord Norman Foster 40 years ago. Its essence lies in a ground-breaking “inside-out” high-tech design, where structural cores and functional elements are pushed to the perimeters and a tiered steel exo-skeleton to release interior space. Through these images, one could notice the structural elegance of modular steel trusses of a timeless mechanical giant, standing strong and tall with integrity, symbolic of the bank’s presence and Hong Kong’s core values as an international financial hub.
