Spring in Hong Kong brings a low mist that does not crown the mountains so much as enter the city. Warm, humid air from the sea meets cooler coastal water; between February and April this advection fog often floods the harbour and the bridges. Here the mist has already covered the span. Beyond it, the city appears to float. A path still threads below, the last visible connection between the ground and the towers that now sit above the clouds. For a few hours the metropolis is both here and elsewhere — dense, linked, and briefly weightless.
