Hi, I’m Jo Emerald, a photographer based in the sometimes wild, sometimes serene, and always beautiful Pacific Northwest. Or as I like to call it, “the Pacific Northwet”. A playful mix of resilience, strength, serenity, and humor, my images are a representation of my own personal growth. My grandmother, a wise woman whom I loved dearly, used to say, “No matter what you’re going through in life, find something in it to laugh at or you’ll go crazy.” Like a flower that thrives in the most unexpected places, my work is a reflection of my resilient spirit, which has been shaped by the challenges and joys of life. Through my lens, I strive to showcase not only the outer beauty of my subjects, but also to reveal something about their personalities. I find humor and spirituality in the everyday, bringing a touch of creativity to the ordinary. Whether it's a powerful portrait or a dreamy image, I invite you to join me on this journey to see the world in a new light, finding joy and humor in even the most mundane with a reminder to not take ourselves too seriously.
