Pieter Clicteur, born on November 7, 1978, in Ostend, has traversed an remarkable career that began in the IT sector for a decade before leaping into a new calling as a professional photographer in 2009. His inspiration for this drastic shift arose during a 14-month journey through Asia and Oceania. It was during this adventure that he fostered his passion for photography, working with a semi-professional reflex camera, ultimately igniting his love for the craft. Upon returning to Belgium, Pieter pursued an intensive three-year training as a photographer. With a wide range of interests, he explored various facets of photography, from social reports, event coverage, and portraiture to studio, product, and publicity photography. Today, Pieter is fully engaged as a photographer serving both corporate and individual clients. His specialties encompass corporate and social reportage, as well as conceptual photography. His notable journey in the world of photography received recognition from the Culture Department of the city of Ostend, showcasing his work at the Nieuwe Gaanderijen on the seaside in 2013. His images adorned the Film Festival Ostend posters for several years. Pieter's evolution as a photographer reached milestones with the publication of several books. His book "heArt" (2015), featuring 61 underwater portraits of well-known Flemish figures, advocated for organ donation. Followed by "Soul" (2016), in collaboration with his wife and the Center for Suicide Prevention, portraying numerous public figures to raise awareness for suicide prevention. In 2019, his book "On the Steel Horse to Lisbon" chronicled his cycling journey to the Portuguese capital. His dedication to excellence has been rewarded with various accolades and exhibitions, culminating in the attainment of his QEP label (Qualified European Photographer) in 2019. The year 2021 marked a new chapter when Pieter, alongside Geert Germonpré, founded Pigeon Eggs, a production house specializing in film and photography.
