iHello, my name is Jiasiou Wu, a photographer from Taiwan and the founder of Jianran Light. Photography, for me, is not only an artistic expression but also a way of observing life with clarity, compassion, and mindfulness. My creative journey began with a simple curiosity about how light shapes our perception of the world. Over time, I discovered that light is more than a technical tool — it is a language of spirit, a mirror of our inner state, and a bridge that connects humanity across different cultures. My work mainly focuses on portraiture, documentary, and cultural photography. I am drawn to moments that are often overlooked: the laughter of children, the silence of rituals, the resilience of ordinary people, and the harmony found in nature. Each image is an attempt to preserve not only what is seen but also what is felt — the invisible stories, emotions, and truths hidden in fleeting instants. Through my lens, I aim to reveal how light can transform the ordinary into the profound, and how photography can become a path of understanding both the outer world and the inner self. I believe that every photograph carries within it a subtle reflection of the photographer’s mind. This is why my personal motto is “Light is the body of Dharma.” It reminds me that photography is not only about capturing external appearances, but also about revealing the clarity, compassion, and authenticity that already exist within. Participating in the Global Photography Awards is a great honor for me. It is more than a competition; it is an opportunity to share visions, connect with fellow photographers, and celebrate the diversity of human experience through images. I hope that my work can offer viewers a moment of stillness, resonance, and reflection, just as photography has continuously offered me guidance and insight on my journey.
