"The Wanaka Tree" The Lake Wanaka Tree, from humble beginnings over 70 years ago as a willow tree fence post, charged with keeping livestock from wandering in the water. Know to many people, the Tree which appears to be rising alone out of the water, is said to be a symbol of hope. This image was taken in the night to capture the Milky Way shinning above the distant mountains. New Zealand.
