Under the Old Sky

We are all children of the old sky. Beneath it, everything converges: past and present, song and the fire of love, the human heart and the boundlessness of the mountains. Set in Zakarpattia, the Ukrainian Carpathians, this project is rooted in a land where ancient traditions, wooden churches, and mountain landscapes continue to shape the rhythm of everyday life. This project is about the memory of body, soul, and spirit — about how we unconsciously repeat the gestures of our ancestors: touching one another in the same way, gazing at the sky in the same way, seeking strength in our origins and eternity in love. In black-and-white light, antiquity and the present meet — tree, soul, and human beings — in gazes, in embroidered ornaments, and in the memories of ancient churches whose walls still hold the whisper of prayers and the echo of bells. They meet to remind us: time passes, but love and memory remain; time does not destroy — it merely changes its garments.
